Your Answer

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

For over twenty-seven years, loved ones bathed him and cared for all his needs. We prayed for his salvation. Each time we approached him with the good news of Jesus, he belted a few choice words then turned away.

He had many trips to the emergency room and many life-threatening incidents, but the July 29th visit was different. One question changed my brother’s future. My pastor stood beside him and asked, “Billy do you know Jesus loves you?” He didn’t turn away, and his usual four-letter response wasn’t spoken. Billy listened as the pastor continued. “Billy, do you accept Jesus as your Savior?”

Billy answered, “Yes, Jesus.” He turned away with a tear in his eye.

My brother went home to be with the Lord September 4th, and I know he is in heaven with his new body. The words Jesus spoke, “Whoever believes in me shall not perish but have eternal life,” is how I know Billy’s past didn’t matter. All that mattered was how he answered the question, “Do you know Jesus loves you, and do you accept Jesus as your Savior?”

Are you struggling with answering the most important question of your life? Remind yourself Jesus loves you. No matter your past or how many times you’ve turned away, the only thing that counts is your answer.

Accept Jesus as your Savior.
